What quartet likes to sing together, wears lots of blue, and is "The Fan's Favorite" when they sing the national anthem at West Virginia University sporting events? The answer: Sapphire Sound. Singing together for just over a year, this foursome all lives, works, and relaxes in the Mountain State. Favorite activities include delivering singing valentines; singing Christmas carols; singing at county fairs, local churches, and WVU; and rehearsing and laughing in nearly equal amounts.
Tenor Sandy Fosbroke works for the USDA Forest Service in Morgantown, WV, as a Visual Information Specialist working with graphics, editing and publication layout. Sandy is the proud parent of 10-year-old Kenny, who knows the lyrics of some of the songs better than the quartet does. And yes, this tenor is also a blonde...oh well!
Lead Cathi Beogehold is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner currently employed as an HIV/AIDS Educator for the State of West Virginia, funded through a federal grant housed at West Virginia University. Cathi and her husband Matt are the parents of Lindsay and Evan. She is a member of the Sounds of Pittsburgh chorus.
Baritone Annette Culberson is a school counselor in Preston County, WV. She also ably shoulders directing duties for the Sweet Adelines Mountain Harmony Chorus. Annette and husband Joe are the parents of 19-year-old Ashley, a talented dancer.
Bass Mary Virginia Kerns is a first grade teacher in Monongalia County, WV. After singing for her class one day, one of her students commented, "You sing like a man!" (Guess that means she is singing the right voice part in the quartet!) Mary Virginia and husband Dennis are the parents of two boys, Dusty and Casey. They are also very proud of Mary Virginia when she sings on the front row of the Sounds of Pittsburgh Chorus!
